This Privacy Policy explains how the Miqat app (“we”, “our”, “the app”) handles information when you use it. Miqat is a prayer times, Qibla, Azkar, and Quran companion app designed for Android users.
1. Information we collect
Location data
Miqat requests access to your device’s location (fine location) to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction toward the Kaaba in Mecca. Your location is used on your device to calculate these values and is sent to our prayer-time data provider only as coordinates to retrieve prayer times. It is not stored on our servers, linked to your identity, or used for unrelated purposes.
Advertising identifier
Miqat displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device’s advertising ID and other technical identifiers to serve and measure ads. This data is processed by Google, not by us directly. You can review Google’s privacy practices at Google Privacy Policy and reset or opt out of ad personalization from your device settings.
Locally stored preferences
Settings such as your chosen Adhan sound and prayer notification preferences are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us.
2. Information we do not collect
Miqat does not require account creation, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying personal information.

- Al Quran Cloud API for Quran text and translations
- Google AdMob for advertising
4. Data retention
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Any data processed by third-party services such as AdMob’s advertising ID is retained according to that provider’s own policies.
5. Children's privacy
Miqat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your choices
- You can disable location access in your device settings; prayer times and Qibla features will be limited without it.
- You can reset or opt out of ad personalization in your device’s Google Ads settings.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences from your device immediately.
